Does Aelira replace our manual remediation?
Aelira Core is beta software. Supported workflows can apply partial fixes and suggest alt text, but staff must review each output and resolve remaining issues.
Which formats can it handle?
Aelira has scanning workflows for PDF, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, LaTeX, images, video captions and web pages. Remediation depth varies by format; check your representative files during evaluation.
Is our student data secure?
Self-hosting can keep processing on your approved infrastructure when configured without external providers. For managed deployments, review the agreed provider, region, retention and data controls with your IT and privacy teams.
How accurate is the automated output?
Automated checks and scores help prioritize review. They do not establish WCAG conformance, and generated fixes need human validation before publication.
Can we start small?
Start with a bounded department evaluation, self-hosted or managed. Test representative files, permissions and the full workflow before expanding.
What about the deadline?
Under the DOJ ADA Title II web rule, public entities with populations of 50,000 or more have a April 26, 2027 compliance date; smaller entities and special districts have April 26, 2028. Determine which cohort applies to your institution. Aelira can support an evaluated remediation workflow, with human review still required.
